Open Rank Professor in Actuarial Science

Applications are invited for one full-time tenured/tenure-track faculty position (Assistant, Associate or Full Professor) in Actuarial Science.  The start date is flexible, with a preference to start August 16, 2017.  Successful candidates are expected to maintain an active and independent research program, provide service to the department, the university and the profession, and teach effectively at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.  The University of Illinois has one of the leading undergraduate actuarial science programs in the United States.  We seek candidates to help us build on this record of excellence as we develop commensurate programs for graduate education and research in actuarial science.

Applicants must have a Ph.D. (or equivalent) in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, or related areas such as quantitative risk management, insurance, or finance by mid June 2017 for a preferred start date of August 16, 2017.  Applicants should present evidence of an active research program relevant to actuarial science.  Preference will be given to applicants who are Associates or Fellows of one of the professional actuarial societies, or who have made exam progress toward membership.  To be considered for a tenured appointment, the applicant should present a solid record of research and teaching.  Women, minorities, individuals with disabilities, and veterans are encouraged to apply.
