SACNAS Travel Scholarship Deadline - May 1
SACNAS encourages 2008 National Conference participants to take advantage of available travel scholarships!! The Student Travel Scholarship application deadline (formerly Financial Aid) is May 1, 2008. Travel Scholarships consist of paid expenses for lodging and travel (airfare) to the conference. Summer Institute in Cardiovascular Genetic Epidemiology
The Summer Institute in Cardiovascular Genetic Epidemiology at Washington University in St. Louis provides an all-expense-paid training and mentoring in genetic epidemiology of cardiovascular diseases and risk factors to junior-level faculty and scientists from minority groups that are under-represented in the sciences and/or with a disability, so that they can competently and effectively develop independent research programs on cutting edge Heart, Lung, Blood, and Sleep (HLBS) disorders. The all-expense-paid program brings participants to the University for 3-week sessions during two consecutive summers, with a short mid-year visit. The first session runs from July 24- August 14, 2008.

Summer Undergraduate Internship in Biomedical Informatics at OHSU
The OHSU DMICE Summer Undergraduate Research Program provides paid internship opportunities for students to work intensively with faculty on research projects for ten weeks during the summer. 11th Biennial Symposium on Minorities, the Medically Underserved & Cancer
As a reminder, please register for the 11th Biennial Symposium on Minorities, the Medically Underserved & Cancer as soon as possible. We were notified that the Omni Shoreham Hotel, the site of the event, is sold out for certain nights during our meeting. We have a block of rooms from April 2 – 6, but the available slots are quickly being used. If you have already registered, thanks; no further action is required. The Opening Ceremony commences at 10 AM on Thursday, April 3 and the Symposium adjourns around 11 AM on Sunday, April 6.

New Generation Polar Research Symposium
The New Generation Polar Research Symposium will be held May 4-11, 2008, at the La Foret Conference Center in Colorado Springs, CO, USA.
