Genomics Opportunities
The SACNAS Genome Scholars Program, awarded from 2003-2007, supports a talented group of
underrepresented minority graduate students (enrolled into a graduate
program in genomics or bioinformatics) to take part in genomics opportunities and advance
their careers in genomics, bioinformatics, and closely related fields. Activities have included participation in SACNAS annual
conferences, specialized genomics sessions and networking opportunities, travel to genomics conferences, research presentations, and the 2008 SACNAS MIT Broad
Genome Scholars Technical Training Workshop. In addition, scholars received $25,000 for one year of support for their graduate school expenses.
SACNAS Genome Scholars Program
SACNAS is not currently accepting new applications for this program.Genome Scholars receive $25,000 for one year of support. Support is be provided for the first-year of graduate school in genomics/bioinformatics. In addition, SACNAS supports Genome Scholars to attend the SACNAS National Conference and one additional genomics/bioinformatics conference. Student/Mentor Summer Workshop Fellowships
SACNAS is not currently accepting new applications for this program.Selected graduate students and mentors receive support to attend the SACNAS National Conference and other genomics/bioinformatics conferences and workshops. Workshops and courses will be selected to match the research and interests of the selected students. |
