SACNAS Life Member Dr. Juan Meza has been selected as the new Division Director for the Division of Mathematical Sciences

SACNAS Life Member, recipient of the SACNAS Distinguished Scientist award, and past member on the Board of Directors, Dr. Juan Meza has been selected by the National Science Foundation as the new Division Director for the Division of Mathematical Sciences (DMS).

As part of the Mathematical and Physical Sciences Directorate at NSF, the DMS is dedicated to funding research in mathematics and statistics and supporting education and training in the mathematical sciences. As Division Director, Dr. Meza will lead the team in administering a broad portfolio of investments with an annual budget of approximately $230 million.

Dr. Meza is honored to have been chosen and believes the Division of Mathematical Sciences has well-established its record of funding a broad and excellent set of research and educational programs. He says,“I’m looking forward to helping NSF and to continue their mission of supporting outstanding basic research.”
