YES!! Our name is a testament to our founding during the Chicano and American Indian civil rights movements. Everyone is welcome to become a SACNAS member, regardless of gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, physical or mental disability, race, national origin or ancestry, ethnicity, or religion (including the lack thereof or religious dress and grooming).

At SACNAS, diversity, equity, and inclusion are not abstract concepts or buzz words.They are values and the heartbeat of our programs. They are part of our DNA. We create space where STEM students and professionals from historically underrepresented populations can feel like they belong, can embrace their intersectional identities, and be empowered to bring their whole selves to STEM.

No, we do not offer organizational memberships or group rates at this time.

“SACNISTA” is a term we use to refer to our members. It comes from adding “-ista” to the organization’s name “SACNAS”. Adding this suffix indicates that SACNISTAs (or members) are people who share SACNAS’ values and passion for diversity, inclusion, and equity in STEM. SACNISTAs bring their full authentic selves to our community to inspire and support one another. Anyone can be a SACNISTA— just click below to join us as a member!

SACNAS switched to a new and improved Online Community in 2018! If you have not logged in to your membership since 2018, please create a new membership and contact members@sacnas.org to update your original join date.

You will also receive an email notification prior to your expiration date with a link to renew.

How to view your membership receipt (PDF)

Except for Lifetime members, memberships will renew automatically on your anniversary date. You will receive a notification to remind you when your renewal is coming up.
